Sculpture by the Sea
Congratulations to Kathy Allam for winning the 2023 West Australian Sculptor Scholarship award.
Kathy Allam completed an Advanced Diploma in Visual Art at Central Institute of Technology, now North Metropolitan TAFE, in 2012, and has worked as a graphic designer and merchandising manager since 1982. She has been exhibiting her work, in all media, since 1990 and is represented in many private collections as well as that of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Also, a congratulations to our Central Gallery and Programs Manager Soula Vouyoucalos-Veyradier for being selected to be part of the judging panel! What an honour!
The 19th Sculpture by the Sea at Cottesloe commenced on Friday 3 March and is running until Monday 20 March.
This year's exhibition features work by more than 70 artists including 24 international artists, from countries including the USA, Mexico, New Zealand and Ukraine, alongside 19 national and 28 talented West Australian creators. One of Perth’s largest free public events, the exhibition attracts an estimated 180,000 local, interstate, and international visitors to the popular beach for an extended summer each March.
