Lower fees, local skills
Half price courses
How would you like to get a nationally recognised and accredited qualification but pay only half-price course fees? Or even less than half price! And how about a fees cap?
The Lower fees, local skills program commenced on 1 January 2020, with half price courses to be in place for eligible courses. These qualifications are matched up with the skills employers are looking for, so you'll be job ready.
North Metropolitan TAFE has over 80 courses on offer under the Lower fees, local skills initiative.
Job ready skill sets
Not all jobs need a full qualification, and maybe you don't either.
We’ve consulted with businesses and employers to deliver fast track training where the jobs are.
- The Operating a Small Business skill set is 100% free for everyone.
- Some job ready skill sets are 100% free for eligible students including displaced workers, concession students and youth up to 25 years (not at school).
- All skill sets are available for everyone to study, however if you don’t meet the eligibility requirements for the free training you will be required to pay a fee for your course.
Not sure what's right for you? We can help!
We have four Jobs and Skills Centres (JSC) located at our Balga, Joondalup, Midland and Northbridge campuses.
Whether you want to study a full qualification or a short course, refresh your skills or you're just getting started, our friendly JSC team will listen to your story and help you choose the best option to reach your goals.
Because the JSCs work closely with the local community, and local industry and employers, they know where the jobs are and what's happening in your area. There's no better place to go for advice and information about training or support for your job search, and best of all their services are free.
