This course remains FEE FREE in 2024! The course fees are 100 per cent subsidised by the WA State Government for WA residents.

If you are passionate about supporting people with disability to reach their potential and live an independent life, then this is the course for you
When you complete the Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) you will be on a pathway to develop a career in the rewarding world of disability work. On successful completion you could find work in a variety of settings such as residential, individual support, employment, recreational/day support, advocacy and case management.
*This course includes a minimum of 120 hours of supervised work placement, where you'll be able to apply your training in a meaningful and relevant way, and gain real industry experience.
- Support people with disability to move towards a more independent and self-determined life
- Communicate, network and work with relevant people to ensure the person is supported in all aspects of their life
- Work and develop relationships within a team
Prior to enrolment into this qualification, please consider:
- If you are under 18 years of age
- National Police Certificate (compulsory to obtain) - Please note Any criminal conviction will appear on your National Police Certificate and may affect an organisation's decision whether to accept you for Work Placement (Work Placement is a compulsory element of this course)
- Any difficulty in communicating with either workers or clients. (i.e. difficulty with written or spoken English)
- Manual tasks involved in personal care work
- Ability to set aside between four and five days/week for attendance at classes, work placement and study
- Likelihood of finding it difficult or distressing to provide personal care such as toileting and bathing for clients of any gender and varying ages
- Ability to attend your work placement regularly and reliably
- If you have the following attributes:
- Committed, reliable, proactive and confident in working with people with disabilities
- Tactful, patient, flexible and understanding
- Able to cope with challenging situations
- Able to work as part of a team
